Where RQIA identifies concerns about a particular service it may take enforcement action to ensure the safety, wellbeing and protection of those using the services. We may also take enforcement action where we identify non-compliance with regulations and/or standards.

A notice of proposal to impose conditions on the registration of Angels Recruitment Agency Ltd. was issued on 31 May 2017, and a notice of decision was issued on 3 July 2017.

Ashbrooke Care Home

18 August 2017:  Successful application to a Lay Magistrate, under Article 21 of The Health and Personal Social Services (Quality, Improvement and Regulation) (Northern Ireland) Order 2003, to cancel the registration of Runwood Homes Ltd. in respect of Ashbrooke Care Home, due to the serious risk to a person’s life, health or well-being at the home.

NIAS - Bangor Ambulance Station

Two improvement notices were issued on 02 October 2017. Compliance was achieved against notice 2, relating to patient safety, on 31 October 2017.  Notice 1, relating to governance issues, was extended on 8 November 2017.  

  • Compliance is required by 26 January 2018.
NIAS - Broadway Ambulance Station (Belfast)

Two improvement notices were issued on 02 October 2017. Compliance was achieved against notice 2, relating to patient safety, on 31 October 2017.  Notice 1, relating to governance issues, was extended on 8 November 2017.
