Current Enforcement Activity

Where RQIA identifies concerns about a particular service it may take enforcement action to ensure the safety, wellbeing and protection of those using the services. We may also take enforcement action where we identify non-compliance with regulations and/or standards.

Angels Recruitment Agency Ltd.

A Notice of Proposal to impose a condition on the registration of Angels Recruitment Agency Ltd. (Nursing Agency) was issued on 16 April 2019.  The condition on registration requires the registered provider to notify RQIA when they are proposing to become operational.  

Angels Recruitment Agency Ltd.

A Notice of Proposal to impose a condition on the registration of Angels Recruitment Agency Ltd. (Domiciliary Care Agency) was issued on 16 April 2019.  The condition on registration requires the registered provider to notify RQIA when they are proposing to become operational.  

Barnlee

Two failure to comply notices were issued to Barnlee on 15 April 2019, relating to management, staffing arrangements and infection prevention and hygiene.

  • Compliance required by 13 June 2019.
Copperfields

Conditions placed on the registration of Copperfields on 12 February 2019, in relation to the admissions to the home and categories of care.  You can view the conditions of registration here.

Fruithill Nursing Home

One failure to comply notice was issued to Fruithill Nursing Home on 18 April 2019, relating to management and governance.

NIAS Trust

On 12 March 2018, DoH accepted RQIA’s recommendation to implement a special measure to strengthen governance and assurance arrangements within the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service Trust (NIAS).

RQIA has recommended the secondment into NIAS of a senior practitioner with experience in infection prevention/control and governance and assurance. 


An Improvement Notice was issued to the NI Ambulance Service Trust on 21 December 2018, and extended on 29 March 2019, to ensure robust staff training for infection prevention and control is delivered and assured across the organisation.

Parkanaur College

Three failure to comply notices were issued to Parkanaur College on 14 March 2019, relating to management, staffing arrangements and the health and welfare of residents.

Compliance was achieved with Notice 1 on 1 April 2019.  Notices 2 and 3 were extended on 2 April 2019 and 16 April 2019.

Parkanaur College Supported Living Service

A Notice of Proposal to impose a condition on the registration of Parkanaur College Supported Living Service was issued on 16 April 2019.  The condition on registration requires the registered provider to notify RQIA when they are proposing to become operational.  

Peniel Nursing Care Services

A Notice of Proposal to impose a condition on the registration of Peniel Nursing Care Services was issued on 27 February 2019, and a Notice of Decision was issued on 8 April 2019.  The condition on registration requires the registered provider to notify RQIA when they are proposing to become operational.  

Wood Green Residential Home

Two failure to comply notices were issued to Wood Green Residential Home on 7 March 2019, relating to medicines management.
